Just seen this for Mirra

Love the size & drama of this glass vase and orchids.

Perhaps one for the Mirra collection.....

Dr Dale Rimmington's Office - St Andrews Hospital

Meeting on site this morning to place the signage in reception.... looks fantastic!

The painted stripe feature on the wall was the perfect backdrop to place Dr Dale's branding.

The black and white photo wall was a great success providing a great distraction to the ordinary Doctor's waiting room entertainment of the New Idea edition March 1984!

I will be arranging professional photos soon to truly capture this tenancy.

Congratulations Dr Dale Rimmington on moving in to your new office.

MIRRA presentation Weds 14th Dec '11

This week, I presented the new design concept for Mirra's (www.mirra.net.au) proposed renovation next Feb 2012.

From all accounts, the presentation was well received with some really positive feedback coming our way.

Here are a couple of sneak peaks at some of the proposed ideas.... the theme is GLAMOUR. Modern, with a touch of vintage, glamour.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE MOSAICS.
MOTHER OF PEARL WALL HANGING

I'll continue to post updates as the construction starts - for now, it is all about contractors, quotes and ordering!

This project is of course dear to my heart - not only has Mirra been our pride and joy for the past 5 years, but it is also the venue that Guy & I will be married in next March '12, so Mirra will now be firmly embedded in our hearts.

Enjoy!

Life Fertility Clinic

Not sure if I had posted about the recent award of the design for Life Fertility Clinic at their new location at St Andrews Hospital Specialty Centre.

The carpet selection has just been dropped off by Pete from Master Kelwin floors (www.masterkelwin.com.au) and it's now time to start designing. We'll go with a Godfrey Hirst carpet tile for this project - a cost effective option over such large square meterage. I am liking the look of the plain "Base Plate" range - after our success at Resource Strategies offices, the design & patterning of carpet is only limited by our imagination.

Carpet selection first.
Reception Desk design second.

Next week looks busy already.

Hot off the press...

The wall hanging feature panel for QPF's boardroom is hot off the print run at Flash Photobition and looking great!

The shades of red will break up an otherwise neutral white, grey & black room but still remain corporate & professional.

A quick site inspection at QPF

The rain has not helped us this week with slow but steady progress on QPF's (www.qpf.com.au) flagship building at Springwood.

Signage looks great on the outside of the building - visible from the Pacific Motorway which is fantastic exposure for the clients!

The tiling in the reception area is nearly complete and the frame of the large sculptural reception desk has gone in. A large Essa Stone reception desk top will be placed on this week which should sit wonderfully in the space. The new Wilsonart timber veneer was chosen in "SilverAsh" - first time I have specified this product - and super happy with the result. A beautiful colour with a lovely grainy texture.

Sexy mosaic tiles - a combination of Calcutta marble, Metallic and glass mosaics - will wrap the column at the rear of the desk which should provide a stunning feature in this area & set off the perspex graphics wall which I can't wait to see! A few red accent guest chairs to pick up on QPF's red logo and this area is will shine...

The glass office fronts & central corridors gave me a perfect opportunity to play with translucent & opaque frosting which has picked up on QPF's core business services. The design looks sensational - well done Josh Rufford yet again! Counting down the days to install.... where this glass will take on a personality of its own.

Nagomi Japanese Cuisine & Bar - design upgrade

This Wednesday, I presented the initial design concept for the upgrade works to Nagomi Japanese Cuisine & Bar (www.nagomibento.com.au) to the wonderful William Liu.

The plan is to create a more dynamic space - a space that comfortably houses the already successful gourmet sushi / bento box day time trade and morphs into the after work drinks & cocktail space. Quite the challenge.

It's time to put Nagomi on the Brisbane CBD social scene!

Mirra Mirra on the wall....

The design for the upgrade of Mirra (www.mirra.net.au) is shaping up nicely...... just need to firm up some of the finer details now which will see the whole concept pulled together.

The idea is to strip out the colour but retain the glamour - so the heavy use of metallic and shiny textural surfaces should do the trick.

Here is a sneak peek at the one item that was purchased early on and has become the inspiration for the design.... sometimes, that's all it takes... one / two special items that kick start the process. This is the moment I love the most, stumbling on that one piece.

 Glamorous. Sexy. Sensational.

I am presenting the new renovation plans to Mirra's 2012 client's next week... wish me luck!
